The Oil & Gas industry is a big deal in Alberta, employing many of us Technical Communication professionals. But, do you really understand the fundamentals of the industry?
During this presentation Serene Cheung will be providing a basic introduction into the life cycle of a conventional oil and gas well, and a primer on the oil sands including:
- Well planning
- Drilling operations
- Well completions and production
- Oil sands development history
- Bitumen extraction processes
About the Presenter
Serene is an engineer and consultant at Deloitte & Touche LLP, and is involved in the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program. She has represented many Calgary and multi-national energy companies who develop oil sands technology, unconventional gas, oilfield services equipment and tools, and refining process improvements.
