Transformation | STC Elections This resource will provide information about events, activities, or news originating from STC affiliations (societal or regional) that either have a direct impact on chapter operations or are deemed to be of special interest to members of our community. The intention is not to duplicate information that is regularly available on those organizations' Web sites (you can quickly access these sites by going to our Links page). The focus, rather, is either on one-time undertakings or activities that occur on an irregular basis, such as special task forces, projects, competitions or elections. Transformation InitiativeAbout STC TransformationMany members at the Society level and 'Community' level have been engaged in what is being called the Transformation Initiative (actually, there are seven defined initiatives – learn more about them here). Two of these initiatives, new membership options and rechartering our communities, have been outlined by our president in the October and November issues of SuperScript. As we progress with this collaborative effort, there will be many changes coming our way. To help us manage the change process, the STC Alberta Administrative Council have created a new Transformation Coordinator role. We are happy to announce that Ruth Maryniuk has been appointed to this new position. Among other things, she will be responsible for itemizing all the documents relevant to the cause, informing our members of progress with the initiative, and coordinating our local efforts. One of the first documents produced from our local Transformation effort is the STC Alberta Rechartering document that was referred to in the November SuperScript article. It is available for downloading in the "Operational Documents" section of our Chapter Resources page. If you have any questions about the Transformation Initiative, or are wondering how you can participate, please contact our Transformation Coordinator. STC ElectionsObjectivePrior to elections at STC International or at Region 7, we sometimes receive requests from candidates to post informational articles about themselves.
